What is coaching?
Coaching is a transformational process to achieve a better life. Each session starts with your agenda as you focus on your issues, interests, challenges, problems and goals to create more personal power and to bring about meaningful change in your life. How? By asking direct and powerful questions, the coach taps into your own resourcefulness and guides you to choose your best options and solutions and to help you to move you forward. Think of the coach as the light bearer, lighting a path to where you want to go and helping you tackle obstacles along the way.    back to top

How is coaching different than therapy?
Therapists are licensed mental health professionals such as psychiatrists, psychologists, psychoanalysts and social workers who work with patients who have diagnosable medical and mental conditions. They often examine the patient’s past to find root causes of current problems and helps the client heal, recover and resolve issues. On the other hand, coaching is not clinical in nature, is not based on a  diagnosis and does not usually delve into the past except for background information. The focus of coaching is forward momentum.  Remember, coaching is not therapy. Clients are ultimately responsible for all of their own choices and decisions in their lives that are discussed in coaching sessions.   back to top

Since you are an attorney, do you provide legal advice?
No, I do NOT counsel law, provide legal advice or act as a lawyer when I am coaching or in my coaching sessions. I solely act within the role of coach but can draw from my personal and professional background and experience to gain more clarity on issues.   back to top

Do you provide any other professional services other than coaching?
No, I am NOT a trained or licensed mental health professional, therapist, counselor, consultant, psychologist, psychiatrist or psychoanalyst but a trained coach. I also do not give any legal advice (see above), financial or medical advice, real estate or any other advice that a trained or licensed professional would give and may request that you seek other professional guidance for some issues.   back to top

Yes, most coaching sessions are via phone. It is an efficient, convenient way for you to work on your issues from the comfort of your own home or office without wasting precious time to travel. Each call is scheduled so that you can prepare a space without interruptions. Because of it’s audible nature, you can immediately focus on your agenda and be productive.    back to top

What is a typical coaching session like?
Each 45 minute session begins with a review of progress made since your last session. Then, you determine the agenda.  I ask powerful questions and actively listen to elicit your own natural resourcefulness and to guide you in the direction you aim to go. Options may be weighed, suggestions might be made and challenges might be presented. The session ends with more clarity and action step(s) to help you get closer to your objective.    back to top

Is there confidentiality?
Yes, all sessions are confidential unless there is a safety risk to you or anyone else. I follow the ethics and standards of the International Coach Federation.

Fees for coaching services are based on three 45 minute sessions per month and are paid at the beginning of each month. A three month minimum commitment is highly suggested but not required. Inquire directly for coaching fees.   back to top

Can I pay by credit card?
Yes, payment for services can be made with a major credit card.

Does health insurance cover coaching fees?
No, coaching does not deal with diagnosable conditions so fees are not reimbursed by health insurance providers. My fees are a professional service much like those you pay to an accountant or other service provider.    back to top
